Experienced Laboratory Technician – Asbestos Unit


Our commercial laboratory is on the lookout for an experienced Laboratory Technician to join our close-knit team in Parnell. If you have a passion for science, a sharp eye for detail, and a drive to deliver high-quality results, we want to hear from you!

This is a permanent, full-time position in a science-led setting where precision and purpose go hand in hand. The role is completely laboratory based and involves the preparation of a variety of sample types for asbestos testing, supporting our busy commercial lab team. You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality analytical services to our clients.

Working 40 hours per week, typically between the hours of 7am - 7pm Monday to Friday.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Conducting lab administration duties to ensure efficient ongoing delivery of a quality analytical service to our clients 
  • Working closely with the extended team
  • Supporting our clients’ needs
  • Carrying out preparation of air filters, soils, and bulk materials for asbestos analysis
  • Asbestos analysis of air filters, soils, and bulk materials
  • Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Use of our Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to record data

What you bring

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in science (preferred)
  • Experience in asbestos and mould analysis (3+ years desirable)
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
