IT Support Engineer
Hill Labs has a great opportunity for an IT Support Engineer to join our support desk team in Hamilton.
We are in growth mode with exciting projects coming up which will see our support requirements increase.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who has an eye for detail and a passion for technology. Someone with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
What you’ll be doing
You will be the first point of contact for IT, dealing with internal Hill Labs Staff as well as external customers, so excellent customer service skills are essential. You will need to be able to think on your feet, be willing to learn, and most importantly be a team player.
Hill Labs environment is a mix of in-house developed systems and products, as well as standard business applications, which makes for an interesting technology environment.
The support team is a critical part of our IT operations. You will contribute to servicing requests to meet SLAs. Your responsibilities will include working with stakeholders to resolve customer issues ensuring service meets the highest standard.
This is a permanent position 30 hours per week within a Monday to Friday working week, based in Hamilton.We are flexible around the structure of these hours to work around study/family, etc.
What you’ll bring
You are a natural-born trouble-shooter who can think through a problem logically and drive to the root cause. You have excellent communication skills and can build relationships whilst efficiently collaborating with other teams. You also show a natural inclination for leveraging approved process and escalation procedures.
In addition to the attributes given above, you will need the following skills to succeed in this role:
- Experience is using ticketing systems such as JIRA service desk, Zen desk etc
- Experience in supporting Microsoft products such as Microsoft 365, Windows 11 etc
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering technical support for hardware devices such as PCs, laptops, and printers
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Broad understanding of IT systems and applications
- Demonstrates a keen interest and aptitude for staying up-to-date with technological advancements
Supplementary skills
- A relevant IT qualification
- Exposure to mobile platforms and Web technologies would be an advantage
