Technician


Hill Labs is a nationwide analytical testing laboratory, offering quality services to clients across multiple market sectors including agriculture, environmental and food.

We have fixed term part-time positions available working 20 hours per week in our commercial laboratory based in Hamilton.

These fixed term part-time roles are based at our laboratory facility in Hamilton and offer excellent variety. The positions are available from May - October 2025; Monday to Friday 8am – 12pm, and Monday to Friday 5.30am - 8.30am, Saturday 5.30am – 11am.

We are looking for people who maintain a high level of integrity in their work, are capable of physical work, and enjoy developing their technical skills. 

Key Focus

  • Manual sample preparation
  • Conducting lab administration duties to ensure efficient ongoing delivery of a quality analytical service to our clients
  • Calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment
  • Data entry
  • Working closely with the extended team throughout Hill Labs
  • Some lifting will be required

Experience and Skills

  • Good attitude to learn and develop, is reliable, punctual, conscientious and able to work as part of a team as well as independently
  • Excellent time management, communication and organisational skills
  • Good attention to detail and excellent computer skills
  • Able to work in a highly physical environment
  • Previous experience in a physically demanding role (advantageous)
  • Previous administration experience in a laboratory (advantageous)

Full on the job training in a professional laboratory environment will be provided.

Candidates do not require previous laboratory experience or a qualification in science for this role.
