Senior Technologist - Analytical Technology

We are looking to expand our development capacity and are looking for a Senior Technologist to join our Hamilton branch and be part of our innovative and successful Analytical Technology team.
This is a permanent full-time position in a dynamic, challenging, and rewarding environment.
This rarely advertised role will have interactions with all levels of the business and span the breadth of our Environmental testing function. This role offers variety where no two days are the same, and you have the opportunity to make your mark. Use the latest technology and innovation to help bring R&D applications into the real world.
What you'll be doing:
The key responsibilities of the role will be to carry out R&D projects, provide technical support to routine laboratory operations, and to mentor others within the Technology and Operations teams. R&D projects will be aimed at introducing new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives into operations, ensuring the company meets strategic objectives. Technical support will primarily involve troubleshooting methods, equipment, and instrumentation.
What you bring:
We are seeking an inspirational leader with amazing communication skills and a genuine passion for coaching and training other members of the team. You will thrive in an extremely busy environment, thinking of out of the box solutions for resolving customer issues, keeping abreast of latest technology and comfortable in the transition of lab towards automation.
Education: BSc/NZCS (or equivalent) in chemistry (or a relevant discipline)
Experience: Ideally you will have significant experience using a range of analytical techniques, particularly ICP-OES and ICP-MS, with this experience being gained within the environmental and/or foods market sectors. A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Technologist (or similar position), with ICP-MS method development experience in a commercial laboratory and hands-on experience with troubleshooting of instruments and workflows.
